The Lord your God did to the Jordan what He had done to the Red Sea when He dried it up before us until we had crossed over. 24 He did this so that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the Lord is powerful and so that you might always fear the Lord your God.”

Songs of Solomon is a collection of various testimonies of the Lord’s goodness throughout my journey with Ulcerative Colitis. My journey includes major 5-week hospitalizations in the US with life-threatening complications, recovery from the verge of a life-changing surgery (Total Colectomy) that would have devastated my life, being seriously ill for a year and given up by all doctors, followed by a long painful recovery that took nearly 5 years. Soon after my diagnosis, the Lord promised me that He’ll deliver me completely and has been faithful.
As I was dealing with crisis after crisis, the word of God and prayers were my source of strength. I started writing down every verse that the Lord gave to strengthen and comfort me(along with the context). I’ve compiled these verses and my journey into multiple testimonies. I’ve titled each testimony with a popular hymn/worship song. This is a message of hope especially for those who’re suffering from Auto-immune disorders or other chronic conditions that the Creator who restored me can do for anyone who believes.
I received the best medical care in the US but even that couldn’t help to achieve remission. As auto-immune disorders have no cure, I was looking up for a super-natural miracle while pursuing all medical options. After many doctors in the US and India said surgical removal of the entire colon was my only option, the Lord protected my colon from rupture, preserved my life when I was seriously ill, guided me thru various options that I haven’t heard of (Jeremiah 33:3), and achieve steroid withdrawal as well as remission.
The Lord is now renewing my youth like the eagle’s and even enabled me to resume my IT career after a 12-year gap. I would relate my journey to the Lord guiding the Israelites thru the desert especially Joshua’s victory in the battle against the Amalekites which was possible only because Moses’ hands were held up. I’m alive today only because of the Lord’s mercy through the endless prayer support that I received. The Lord has been faithful and has fulfilled His promise.
I dedicate this blog to my beloved wife who stood steadfast beside me throughout this journey, my loving son who helps me a lot, my parents and family members who went thru a lot of pain and supported me all along, all my friends (especially my friends in Detroit – Faith Tamil Church and Logoseekers Bible Study group) who supported me in prayer and in every possible way. I express my gratitude to all Ministers who prayed for me and everyone who stood in the gap to plead for the Lord’s mercy on me.
